One of the goals of this blog is to try and spread its comedic contents far and wide, like a dandelion whose spores spread laughs rather than terrible, terrible allergies.
Okay, not a great analogy. But still, my point stands, and so I’ve been searching for ways to get the word out about my project and the value of Chinese comedy. One of the people I’ve met has been Vicki Johnson, who founded ProFellow.com, a site designed to spread the word about fantastic fellowships and alert people to organizations looking for people to spend a year doing something interesting and worthwhile.
Vicki asked me to write a piece about my own experience applying to the Fulbright Program and I happily accepted her request. I think my advice is broadly applicable to writing funding applications in general, which is a useful skill when you consider that spending an hour writing a winning funding application is likely to be the highest-earning hour of your life. The post has been put online, so take a moment and check it out, even if only to see the same picture of me that appeared infamously in a fake interview that shall not be named here…
